“American Idol” had its most dramatic and emotional results show of the season thus far on Thursday.
After much suspense and the foreshadowing of many tears to come, one contestant from the Top 4 was eliminated and the Top 3 was revealed.
The results were based on the combined totals of last week’s votes added to this week’s.
So, how did things break down?
SPOILER ALERT!
Amber Holcomb and Kree Harrison were surprisingly in the Bottom Two.
Ultimately, Holcomb was the one eliminated.
The 19-year-old broke down in tears towards the end of her farewell performance, and was unable to finish.
Her fellow contestants, and the judges as well, were visibly emotional, too, as host Ryan Seacrest brought Holcomb’s dad on stage.

Next week, Harrison, Angie Miller, and Candice Glover will get to go on hometown visits, before competing again on Wednesday.
