Dave Benton, a news anchor in Illinois, made a heartbreaking revelation to viewers this week — he has just a few months to live.
The WCIA newsman revealed that his brain cancer had returned, that it was “too big” for surgery or radiation, and that he knew the end was near.
“Doctors have told me that I may have four to six months to live,” said Benton, adding that he was getting treatment just “to have a few more days, and to make them the best that they can be.”
He told viewers, “I believe that I am in God’s hands. I’m at peace, and I know that He’s going to take care of the days ahead.”
Benton, who has a wife and two children, vowed to keep doing good work until the very end.
The anchor’s composure, resilience and courage in this segment are incredible.
