Katy Perry Hints At Super Bowl Gig, Calls Football “My New Favorite Sport”

Katy Perry has yet to confirm that she’s the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show performer, but she seems to be dropping hints.
On Sunday evening, the pop star tweeted, “Ahh, Sunday…Nothing but sitting on the couch, watching my new favorite sport…”
She included a football emoji at the end.
As Extreme Entertainment previously reported, multiple outlets have said Perry will indeed be performing at halftime during the 2015 NFL Championship game on February at 1 the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona..
A rep for Perry has not responded to a request for comment.
Perry was first said to be in contention for the coveted gig in August, along with Coldplayand Rihanna.
The league’s relationship with Rihanna ended up fizzling out — quite badly — in September.
Perry, however, showed her football spirit earlier this month on ESPN’s “College GameDay,” where she correctly predicted a University of Mississippi victory.
On the show, the singer confirmed she’s had conversations with the NFL about performing at the Super Bowl, but rejected the rumored possibility that this year’s artist may have to “pay to play,” saying, “I’m not that kind of girl.”
