Neil Patrick Harris wound up on stage at the Oscars in his underwear as part of a funny Birdman spoof at the Academy Awards. Watch the video below!
Using the long tracking shot style (and backstage corridor setting) from the Oscar-nomintated movie, the Oscars showed Harris with his robe caught in a door, much like Michael Keaton’s was in Birdman. In the film, Keaton’s character has to run through Times Square almost naked in his undies. In this case, Harris was forced to walk past leering eyes and cameras as he made his way back to the Dolby Theatre’s stage.
Along the way, he passed a tuxedoed Miles Teller playing drums. Teller, of course, plays a drummer in the acclaimed film Whiplash, and Birdman features a drum-heavy soundtrack. “Not my tempo!” Harris told him. The host then courageously faced the star-studded audience, and a global viewing public, wearing just his undies. The nearly nude Harris announced, “Acting is a noble profession” to laughter, introducing the next presenters. Watch the video below, and tell us what you think!
