The new Kristen Stewart Chanel ad, shot by Karl Lagerfeld for the company’s handbag campaign, has been released. The black-and-white shot shows the actress looking stylish with the classic 11.12 bag. “For me the iconic handbag is just like the House of Chanel, fundamental and modern, two qualities not usually shared,” she’s quoted as saying.
Chanel’s new campaign also features Vanessa Paradis with the “Girl” handbag and Alice Dellal with the “Boy” version. The three women appeared with Lagerfeld during Fashion Week in Paris back in January.
Stewart’s affiliation with Chanel and Lagerfeld has been going for some time. She’s worn Chanel dresses on the red carpet since she was a teenager, and was announced as the new face of the fashion house’s Métiers d’Art collection back in 2013.
In an interview last year about her collaboration with the legendary designer, Stewart said, “His image is in contrast to what it’s really like to be around him. There’s something almost unapproachable and f—ing chic.” She added, “He’s an impressive guy. He definitely is so much more than the glasses and the hair than you might think he is.” Indeed.
