Mickey Rourke Defends Johnny Depp: “Not A Violent Guy” (VIDEO)

Mickey Rourke is defending Johnny Depp’s character in the wake of Amber Heard’s allegations that he abused her. Watch below.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, on Friday Heard obtained a temporary restraining order against Depp after alleging he assaulted her multiple times during their marriage. While Depp himself hasn’t commented, in a court filing his attorney accused the actress of using the claims to get a “premature” financial settlement. The veracity of either side’s allegations is unknown at this point.
But after the news broke, TMZ paparazzi caught up with the actor’s longtime friend Rourke, and asked him point-blank, “Do you think Johnny Depp is capable of the domestic violence that Amber Heard is alleging?” He answered, “He doesn’t seem like a very violent man to me.” Rourke went on, “He’s always been like really low-key and gentleman[ly]. Not a violent guy.”
As for Heard, Rourke acknowledged, “I don’t know anything about her.” But he repeated in defense of Depp, “I think he’s a really good guy. Always been low-key, [a] gentleman.”
Rourke, whose friendship with Depp dates back to the early 1990s, is one of the few celebrities to comment on the situation. As Extreme Entertainment reported, Rainn Wilson took the opposite stance on Friday evening, tweeting that “Capt. Jack Sparrow” is a “wife beater.” Check out the footage of Rourke defending Depp below.
