Pink appeared on Wednesday’s “Good Morning America,” during which the singer opened up about her family life, new music, body shaming, how she got her “inappropriate” nickname, and much more! Watch the full interview below!
The singer is featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming Disney sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass, which she said “celebrates uniqueness, and that’s a huge theme in our house so I’m a fan all around.” Pink’s new music arrives after a three-year hiatus, during which she admitted to attending “a lot of bake sales” for her nearly five-year-old daughter Willow.
“I love being a mama,” the singer asserted. “I made a choice a long time ago that I was going to have a successful family, and that is my number one goal in life.” As far as having more children, Pink joked that with her husband Carey Hart, “I feel like I have two kids right now.” But she added, “No, I want to say Carey Hart is an awesome husband and a really great dad, but he’s also like a second child.”
Pink also went on to slam the prevalence of body shaming in today’s culture, noting, “There’s so many different kinds of bodies. How can you shame one over the other?” She added, “My thing is, if you have all four limbs and all five senses, you’re doing A-ok. Anyone that has an issue like that needs to find some gratitude.”
And finally, Pink, who was born Alecia Moore, admitted she got her famous nickname as a kid, but it had nothing to with her hair, which was green at the time. The singer revealed she received the colorful moniker for “lots and lots and lots of reasons,” some of which were “inappropriate.” Watch Pink’s full “GMA” interview below!
