Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s marriage is not in trouble, despite a false tabloid report. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told the story is “not true.”
According to OK!, Hanks and Wilson, who have been together for 28 years, are “heading their separate ways” because their marriage is “crumbling.” A so-called “source” for the tabloid is quoted as saying, “It’s so sad, but the stresses on their marriage have just been too much lately.” The outlet blames Hanks’ busy work schedule as one of the reasons for the relationship strife.
The tabloid goes on to claim that the couple’s son, Chet, is another source of frustration for the famous couple. The magazine alleges Hanks and Wilson disagree on how to best handle their son, who has battled substance abuse issues in the past, and now that’s further driving them apart. “Tom’s friends don’t think his heart is in his marriage anymore,” says the alleged snitch, “and they suspect he’s using work as an escape.” The dubious tipster add, “That he and Rita could fall apart after all this time is tragic.”
No, this story is tragic, because it’s spreading misinformation. Extreme Entertainment looked into these separation claims about one of Hollywood’s longest-lasting couples and, we learned they’re completely false. A rep for Hanks tells us exclusively there’s no truth to the story, and that the tabloid’s allegations are simply “not true.”
