Caitlyn Jenner is celebrating the one-year anniversary of making her debut as transgender woman. On Wednesday, the reality star posted a video to express her gratitude for being able to “live life authentically.” Watch the video below!
As Extreme Entertainment reported, Jenner revealed herself as a woman for the first time on the cover of Vanity Fair on June 1, 2015. While holding up a copy of the magazine, Jenner filmed herself telling the camera, “One year since Vanity Fair came out! I can’t believe it, it’s been one year. What a year!” She added, “Nothing like living your life authentically. It’s been so much fun.”
The Vanity Fair cover photo was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, and features Caitlyn in a white undergarment that shows off her cleavage. The cover line reads, “Call me Caitlyn,” which was the first time she revealed her female name.
As Extreme Entertainment also noted, Jenner announced for the first time that she was transitioning from male to female during a “20/20” special that aired in April 2015. Since openly joining the transgender community, the former Olympic athlete has gone on to campaign for LGBT rights, as well as star in her own reality show “I Am Cait,” which chronicles the struggles she faces as a transgender woman.
