Jake Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst are NOT “reuniting,” despite a phony tabloid report. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “false.”
Gyllenhaal and Dunst dated more than a decade ago, but now according to OK!, the ex-couple is considering giving their romance another try. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid that after Dunst ended her engagement to Garrett Hedlund in April, Gyllenhaal supposedly invited the actress to hang out with him on the set of his upcoming movie in Boston.
The tabloid’s dubious source adds, “Kirsten has a break before her next project begins so she’s seriously considering it.” The magazine’s seemingly phony insider further claims that the actor has “said more than once that [Kirsten is] someone he should have fought harder for,” adding, “He’s been calling her whenever he gets the chance.”
But Extreme Entertainment checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us that Gyllenhaal and Dunst haven’t been talking about getting back together, and the tabloid’s claim is simply “false.”
Of course, we’re not surprised by the tabloid’s bogus story. Extreme Entertainment previously debunked OK! for falsely claiming Gyllenhaal was “hooking up” with Charlize Theron. We also busted the tabloid’s sister publication, Star, for publishing the untrue allegation that Dunst cheated on Hedlund with Colin Farrell. This latest report about a rekindled romance is similarly phony.
