Calvin Harris tweeted on Thursday he has a “huge amount of love and respect” for Taylor Swift. And the singer retweeted his kind words. Harris addressed the split for the first time, a day after it was revealed he and Swift had broken up.
In a simple tweet, Harris wrote, “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect.” Swift similarly feels that way about the EDM DJ, having retweeted his message a few moments later. Its worth noting that Harris mentioned “the only truth,” because his breakup with Swift has spawned a sickening amount of false and fabricated reports as to why the couple split, who was supposedly to blame, and how each respective party is handling the end of their relationship.
Extreme Entertainment has stayed out of the fray, allowing a number of less reliable webloids to make fools of themselves with a vast array of lies. We’re told there was nothing dramatic or cataclysmic. The 15-month relationship had simply “run its course.”
As Extreme Entertainment reported, it was revealed on Wednesday that Swift and Harris had gone their separate ways. Three months earlier, they celebrated their one-year anniversary with a vacation after which they shared photos of themselves kissing and generally looking happy. But over time, Extreme Entertainment is told, each realized that while they have “love and respect” for each other, their relationship was not altar-bound. We sincerely hope that the webloids that have childishly been making up stories about the ex-couple will start acting as mature as Swift and Harris have about their split.
