Johnny Depp’s Assistant: Texts To Amber Heard Apologizing For Abuse Are Fake

Johnny Depp’s assistant, Stephen Deuters, says that recently published text messages that supposedly depict him apologizing to Amber Heard over the actor’s alleged domestic abuse are fake.
Entertainment Tonight purported to have obtained “never-before-seen text messages” between Deuters and Heard from May 2014. The text chain begins with Depp’s assistant supposedly telling the actress that her then-husband was “incredibly apologetic and knows that he has done wrong.” Heard then supposedly responded, “I don’t know if I can stay with him,” to which “Deuters” said, “When I told him he kicked you, he cried. It was disgusting. And he knows it. He’s a little lost boy. And needs all the help he can get. He is so very sorry, as he should be.”
The phony texts go on to depict Heard allegedly responding, “He’s done this many times before. Tokyo, the island, London (remember that?!), and I always stay. Always believe he’s going to get better.”
But shortly after ET posted its story, Deuters came forward and revealed that the text messages had been doctored. He insists that he never witnessed Depp physically abusing Heard, and therefore never had a conversation with her about the alleged incident. Deuters further says he’s willing to testify under oath that the text messages are fake, and that he’s never observed Depp acting violently towards Heard.
