The 2016 Miss USA pageant airs live from Las Vegas on June 5, and Extreme Entertainment has a first-look at this year’s contestants! See their photos below!
In addition to contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, the pageant added a twist this year. After a nationwide search that began in April, a 52nd contestant, dubbed Miss 52 USA, was added to the competition and will also vie for the crown. Julianne Hough will co-host the glamorous night with Terrence J. Jenkins and backstage commentator Ashley Graham. And slated to perform during the Miss USA pageant are the Backstreet Boys and Chris Young. The judges for this year’s competition are Ali Landry, Joe Zee, Laura Brown, and Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, last year’s Miss USA was steeped in controversy. A month before the pageant, NBC severed ties with the competition’s now-former owner, Donald Trump, after he said many Mexican immigrants were “rapists” and “criminals” while announcing his candidacy for president of the United States. The show ultimately aired on the Reelz network, but not before the pageant’s original hosts, performers, and judges dropped out and had to be replaced.
The 2016 Miss USA is set to air live on FOX on June 5, beginning at 7 p.m. EST. Extreme Entertainment will have a live stream and a winner’s post.
