VIDEO: Ryan Seacrest Booed By Football Fans As He Kicks Off New NFL Season

Who in the world thought that Ryan Seacrest was the right person to kick off the 2013/2014 NFL season?  Cause when we think of the rough and tumble world of professional football, the American Idol host is the last person who comes to mind.
NBC made the terrible decision to have the 38-year-old host, producer, multi- hyphenate everything come out onto the field to announce the kickoff of the NFL season Thursday night when the Denver Broncos hosted the Baltimore Ravens at home.

Seacrest walked onto the field in a cloud of smoke surrounded by Broncos cheerleaders announcing.“I only know of one other countdown that might be as big as this show,” obviously referencing his hosting gig on ABC’sRockin’ New Year’s Eve telecast.
“America is ready for 17 weeks of excitement, followed by the drama of the playoffs, all culminating in New York at the Super Bowl!” a dapper suit-clad Seacrest told the crowd, who booed him relentlessly.
Seacrest has a major deal with NBC and E! parent company Comcast, who apparently thought using him in the new platform of professional sports was a good idea.  NBC had previously utilized Ryan during the 2012 London Olympics, but mainly for athlete profiles and fluff stories.
While Ryan might have been a buzz kill to the fans at Sports Authority field, at least their team won.  Denver crushed the reigning Super Bowl champion Ravens 49-27.
