Asked by an audience member what she thinks about those who judge others based on their looks, the actress said, “Screw those people.”
Lawrence continued, “The world has a certain idea. We see this airbrushed perfect model, and then if you don’t look like that…”
“You just have to look past it,” she offered, adding, “You look how you look. What are you going to do, be hungry every single day to make other people happy? That’s just dumb.”
Lawrence went on to criticize specific parts of our culture that promote superficiality, saying, “Shows like the ‘Fashion Police’ and things like that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on things [that don't matter].”
“They put values in all the things that are wrong and [show] that it’s ok to just point at people and call them ugly and call them fat and they call it fun,” added the Hunger Games star.
Lawrence concluded, “It’s something that really bothers me… because I love to eat.”
