Steve Martin gave a funny and emotional speech while accepting his honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards in Hollywood over the weekend.
The actor-comedian was introduced by Tom Hanks, who then took a selfie with Martin at the podium.
Martin was both humorous and sincere as he looked back on his career and expressed gratitude to the many people who made it possible.
While thanking his wife, Martin choked up, telling the audience, “I knew I wasn’t going to make it through the speech. I read it to the dog this morning and wept.”
