Ashley Judd Pressing Charges Against Twitter Trolls Who Threatened Sexual Violence Over Kentucky Basketball Tweets

Ashley Judd is threatening to press charges against several Twitter users who hurled sexually violent messages at her following a college basketball game on Sunday. The 46-year-old actress tweeted about the situation, telling her followers that she was called a “wh*re” and a c*nt” for supporting the Kentucky Wildcats.
“When I express a stout opinion during #MarchMadness I am called a wh*re, c*nt, [and] threatened with sexual violence,” wrote Judd. “Not okay.” The actress then highlighted one of the offensive posts she received, writing, “I am sorry to retweet but this is a typical example. @Leeroy_Max: .@AshleyJudd Go suck on Cal’s two inch d*ck ye B*tch wh*re.”
Apparently, the tasteless comments began after Judd tweeted during the second half the game that the Arkansas Razorbacks were playing “dirty” and could “kiss my team’s free throw making a–.” She added, “@KySportsRadio @marchmadness @espn Bloodied 3 people so far.”
On Monday, Judd appeared on “MSNBC Live with Thomas Roberts” to talk about the insults she received following the game. “The way things happen on social media is so abusive. Everyone needs to take personal responsibility for what they write and not allow this misinterpretation and shaming culture on social media to persist,” said Judd, adding, “And by the way, I’m pressing charges.” Her story was also highlighted on Tuesday’s “Today Show.” Watch the videos below, and tell us what you think.
