Jon Hamm Finishes Rehab For Alcohol

Jon Hamm has completed rehab treatment for alcohol, it was revealed on Tuesday. The “Mad Men” star checked himself into Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut in February and finished a 30-day program. Hamm was out in time for various press events in New York this week ahead of the final episodes “Mad Men,” which begin airing next month.
“With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction. They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward,” says the actor’s camp in a statement to TMZ. Additional details about Hamm’s treatment have not been disclosed at this time.
Hamm has portrayed advertising guru Don Draper on the critically acclaimed “Mad Men” since 2007. The show’s highly anticipated final run of episodes start on AMC on April 5. The episodes wrapped filming a long time ago. In a recent GQ interview marking the show’s impending end, Hamm put his professional struggles in perspective: “Whenever people want to talk about how hard it is to be an actor, I want to go, ‘Um, it’s hard to be a baby-heart surgeon.’ Being an actor is actually pretty easy, if you can memorize lines.”
