Kanye West Settles Paparazzi Attack Lawsuit, Apologizes To Photographer

Kanye West has settled the civil lawsuit filed by Daniel Ramos, the photographer he attacked at LAX airport in Los Angeles back in July 2013. One of the settlement terms was an apology from West to Ramos. It’s not clear whether he also paid the photographer as part of the arrangement.
The original incident unfolded when Ramos repeatedly questioned West as he exited the airport nearly two years ago. West made it clear he did not want to talk, Ramos persisted, and West eventually lunged at him and his camera. See the video below. In the ensuing criminal case, West pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery.
As part of the plea deal, the rapper was placed on 24 months of probation (which is still active), and assigned community service and anger management courses. In March 2014, West was quietly booked in and out of jail after turning himself in to authorities to count as time served in connection with the deal.
In a statement to TMZ regarding the new settlement, Ramos’ attorney, Gloria Allred, said, “We believe that this case sent an important message. Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question.”
