Carey Mulligan is reportedly a mom! The actress is said to have welcomed a baby with husband Marcus Mumford.
According to E! News, Mulligan has “given birth to a healthy and happy baby,” but there is no information about the birth date or gender. A source is quoted as saying, “She is just enjoying this time with her family and close friends.” Extreme Entertainment has reached out for confirmation.
After a few months of speculation, Mulligan was reported to be pregnant in June when she stepped out for the Tony Awards with what appeared to be a baby bump. Neither she nor Mumford, however, ever confirmed that they were expecting. The couple, childhood pen pals who connected romantically as adults, quietly wed in 2012.
Both Mulligan and Mumford keep relatively low profiles. In fact, the Oscar nominee hadn’t been seen since the Tonys until Wednesday, when she went to a photo call at the London Film Festival in support of her upcoming movie, Suffragette. There Mulligan sported a loose-fitting sweater (see photo below).
Mulligan is known for cherishing her privacy, and told Vogue earlier this year that Mumford is the “only thing that’s mine that I can keep totally away, so I try to.” She also admitted, “I can’t wait for a little baby to come along.” Extreme Entertainment congratulates the stars if that baby has now indeed arrived.
