Mama June’s Daughter Pumpkin, 16, Engaged To 19-Year-Old And Saving Herself For Marriage (PHOTO)

Mama June’s 16-year-old daughter Pumpkin is engaged to a 19-year-old guy named Joshua Efird. They have been dating for nine months.

June Shannon confirms the teens became engaged two days before Christmas. At a dinner at a seafood restaurant, Efird surprised Pumpkin (real name: Lauryn Shannon) by proposing with a pink diamond engagement ring. The impending nuptials have the matriarch’s blessing.

Mama June tells TMZ that Pumkpin and Efird have vowed not to have sex until they are married, though at 16, she is already at the age of consent for the state of Georgia. But the pair is not only opting to wait, but wait a while at that. Pumpkin and Efird are not planning on tying the knot until she turns 18.

Mama June and her family rose to relative prominence on the TLC reality series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which was inspired by “Toddlers and Tiaras” star Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, her youngest child. The show, however, was canceled in 2014 after Mama June resumed a relationship with a convicted sex offender who had molested another one of her daughters, Chickadee. Mama June and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, Honey Boo Boo’s father, are currently on WE tv’s “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.”
