Angelina Jolie has not turned to Gwen Stefani for help during her divorce, despite a new report. Extreme Entertainment can exclusively correct this manufactured report. We’re told it’s “false.”
According to HollywoodLife, Stefani has “stepped up to help out her old friend Angie in the wake of her painful divorce from Brad Pitt.” The webloid claims that prior to her own split, Stefani and Gavin Rossdale “would spend time with Angelina Jolie and Brad.” The often discredited site even alleges the No Doubt singer was “one of the first people to offer her support for Angie during such a difficult time.”
Interestingly, HollywoodLies, as it’s known, has no quotes from even any of its seemingly made-up sources to back up the contention Jolie is getting “help” from Stefani. At best, the connection the outlet can draw is that Stefani and Jolie both hired famed divorce attorney Laura Wasser. Of course, Wasser is one of a few go-to matrimonial lawyers in Los Angeles, so it would actually be more surprising if Jolie didn’t use her.
Then, in a feeble attempt to find common ground and tie the two women together, the webloid writes, “Gwen’s divorce was caused by cheating on Gavin’s part, which was rumored to be part of the reason that Angelina is leaving Brad.” As a result, notes the wholly misinformed site, Stefani has “plenty of insight to offer her good friend.” But Pitt did not cheat on Jolie. Even Marion Cotillard, with whom Pitt was accused of having an affair, has said it’s all untrue.
What is true is that five years ago Jolie’s kids had a playdate with Stefani’s children in London, but Extreme Entertainment has not been able to confirm other get-togethers. Actually, Stefani’s connection was not to Jolie, but instead to Pitt, who was a guest at her Los Angeles wedding to Rossdale in 2002. In any event, a Stefani insider didn’t know of any help being offered by the singer to Jolie, and a source close to the actress tells Extreme Entertainment the webloid’s claim is “false.”
Our course, none of this should be surprising, considering HollywoodLife was caught red-handed fabricating a similar report about George Clooney supporting Pitt during the divorce. On Tuesday, the untrustworthy site concocted an entire article that alleged Pitt was “leaning on George,” and Clooney was “advising Brad to do whatever he can to save the marriage.” But it all was a blatant lie. Clooney didn’t even find out about Pitt’s divorce until hours after the site published its made-up story.
