Horror flick The Possession took the top spot in a slow box office weekend.
The movie earned $9.5 million.
Still, that was good enough to beat the Shia LaBeouf-Tom Hardy bootlegger film Lawless, which snagged second place with $6 million.
Coming in third with $4.9 million was Bradley Cooper’s new drama The Words.
Action star extravaganza The Expendables 2and the animated ParaNorman secured fourth and fifth places with $4.8 million and $4.3 million, respectively.
Rounding out the Top 1o were The Bourne Legacy ($4.1 million), The Odd Life of Timothy Green ($4 million), The Campaign ($3.5 million), 2016: Obama’s America ($3.4 million), and The Dark Knight Rises ($3.4 million).
