Dan Aykroyd “OK” After Hospitalization For Stomach Pain, Says Rep

Dan Aykroyd was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital with extreme stomach pain on Saturday, but a rep for the actor tells Extreme Entertainment “he’s OK.”
Paramedics responded to a call from Aykroyd’s home at around 10 a.m. on Saturday and transported him via ambulance to the emergency room of a Santa Monica-area hospital. Doctors ran a series of tests on the actor-comedian, but haven’t yet determined what caused his physical discomfort.
Aykroyd, who’s fairly active on both Facebook and Twitter, has yet to address the situation on social media. The 63-year-old actor has been promoting the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, for which he serves as an executive producer and also appears in a cameo role. As Extreme Entertainment has reported, the new film has been getting hit with a lot of criticism over its all-female cast, but Aykroyd tried to subside some of that backlash when he praised the film earlier this week.
Dubbing himself the “originator of the original,” Aykroyd wrote on Facebook, “Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films plus Bill Murray is in it!” He added, “As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I’m paying to see that and bringing all my friends!”
