Louis C.K. Child Molester: Did Pedophile Jokes In SNL Monologue Go Too Far?

Louis C.K. is under fire for his controversial “Saturday Night Live” monologue, in which he cracked jokes about child molesters and pedophiles. See video below.
As Extreme Entertainment reported, the comedian was the host for the “SNL” season finale, and talked about being “mildly racist,” and compared his fighting daughters to Israel and Palestine. At the end of the opening, Louis C.K. brought up pedophiles, saying he grew up near a child molester, something he considered “no big deal.” “He liked teenage boys. Not me. He didn’t like me. I felt a little bad,” the star said.
Adopting a French accent, Louis C.K. went on to explain how the guy would try luring neighborhood kids with McDonald’s, and said, “Child molesters are very tenacious people. They love molesting childs. It’s crazy. It’s like their favorite thing! It’s so crazy, because when you consider the risk in being a child molester, speaking not only of the damage to the child you’re doing, the risk, there is no worse life available to a human than being a caught child molester. And yet they still do it! Which from you can only really surmise that it must be really good. From their point of view! Not ours! From their point of view, it must be amazing for them to risk so much.”
As the audience laughed, C.K. quipped that “this is my last show probably.” He went on to compare a pedophile’s apparently inability to resist sexually abusing children to his own addiction to Mounds bars. “And yet, if somebody said to me if you eat another Mounds bar, you’ll go to jail and everybody will hate you, I would stop eating them,” said the “Louie” actor. “Because they do taste delicious but they don’t taste as good as a young boy does, and shouldn’t. To child molesters. Not to me. Not to us. Because we’re all awesome.”
The comments are not sitting well with many on social media. One viewer tweeted during the broadcast, “Louis Ck Pedophile Sketch is just disgusting #SNL40Finale.” Another wrote, “What the hell? Move on from the pedophile jokes Louis #SNL.” A different Twitter user complained, “Love Louis CK. But seriously. Child molester humor?? No. Disgusting.” And yet another wrote, “So all of the Louis CK fans can hate me all they want but as a fellow child of the 70’s it’s hard to find humor in his molester jokes.”
But not everyone was bothered. “Seriously Louis CK just made child molester jokes funny,” tweeted a watcher. Someone else wrote on Twitter, “Louis CK leading us through a segment of child molester jokes is awfully exhilarating.” Another commented, “Louis CK really tempting fate with this child molester stuff. Fearlessly leveraging live television. Bold.”
The monologue was delivered hours after Gawker published a story claiming Louis C.K. had been inappropriate with female comediennes, with allegations saying he has a fetish for masturbating in front of women. One Twitter user later observed, “Louis CK should have probably scrapped the child molester SNL monologue after the Gawker piece came out.” But another person remarked, “Theory: Louis CK told “edgy” child molester jokes on SNL to manufacture controversy that would distract from Gawker story.” Check out the video below, and tell us what you think.
