Simon Cowell has expressed interest in reviving “The X Factor” in the United States, but a new report claiming he has specific plans to do so with FOX in 2015 is NOT true. Sources close to Cowell andSyco Entertainmentexclusively tell Gossip Copthat the story is “fiction” and should be “ignored” by fans.
The claims originated in the Mirror, which says Cowell is “close to having the US show recommissioned for 2015,” alleging that “executives at his company Syco are in the final stages of securing a deal – most likely back with Fox – after staff put together a new proposal which has been ‘well received.’”
The British tabloid further claims Cowell may again leave “The X Factor UK” “for a second time to relaunch his American version of the show,” and that he is “eager to sign up”Nicole Scherzinger to return as a judge, after she appeared on the first season on FOX back in 2011.
But Extreme Entertainment is told that the Mirror has gotten way ahead of itself. One source exclusively tells Extreme Entertainment, “This is just idle, speculative, pre-mature gossip from rumor-mongers presuming way, way too much.” While it seems “The X Factor” could make a U.S. comeback at some point down the road, the details currently being spread are incorrect. As they say in showbiz, stay tuned!
