It was an emotional goodbye over the weekend for the cast of Glee.
Lea Michele tweeted, “Last day at Glee tomorrow… It’s been the most incredible 6 1/2 years. I’m going to miss Rachel Berry so much.”
The breakout star of the show added, “We were so lucky to have had the most amazing crew who worked so hard everyday to make the show amazing. I’m so grateful for them this incredibly amazing experience. Thank you so much to all of our amazing Gleeks who supported us so much! I love you guys.”
While filming the FOX musical, she fell in love with her co-star Cory Monteith, who died in 2013 of a drug overdose. So it was particularly moving when she posted a photo called “One last thing.” It was Lea carrying home the famous football jersey that Corey’s character Finn Hudson wore on the show.
Darren Criss, who was hired to appear as a recurring character as a Warbler and instantly became a fan favorite, posted a picture of the empty choir room with this caption: “And the Glee Club has left the building. Thanks McKinley High, seeya on TV.”
The star, who is going to Broadway to star in Hedwig And The Angry Inch, tweeted his gratitude: “Along with the entire cast, crew, and production team. It has been the privilege of a lifetime…Thank you all for your enthusiasm, your hard work, and your kindness. I’m so proud and feel so fortunate to have been a part of this family. And to our beloved #Gleeks- you changed our lives as much as you think we changed yours… Thank you for supporting us all these years-We❤️u”
Kevin McHale, who went up into the rafters and left a marker for future productions, wrote, “Thank you Paramount for letting me and my friends hang out here for the past 6 years. You can have 5 of your stages back now.”
Chris Colfer simply tweeted, “And that’s a wrap! #Glee #6Seasons #BestCastandCrew #Family.”
Amber Riley added, “Series wrap. One chapter ends and another begins. Thank you Glee. Thank you so much for giving me life. Goodnight.”
